It's Been a Minute

I have not written anything lately because of a few things. First, I had the flu the second week of December. This really laid me out and exacerbated everything else. Second, it was the Holidays, and I really wanted to focus on pushing through and being with family. So, I accomplished that. Was it easy? No. It was not easy. There were some really hard times in there. Obviously, those hard times are still here, but it is 2023 and time for an update.
Why update? Well, I could focus on the sickness and pain. The last two days have been especially hard, but this condition is interesting. You see, when it hurts the most is when blood volume is being cutoff from something. That hurts - a lot. But, once the blood is cutoff, the pain goes away. So, what I've experienced over the last 12 months, almost, is periods of pain, followed by periods of almost normal pain levels. I say almost because there are some joint/muscle issues that are there almost all the time, but compared to the bad times, they are nothing.
But, that's all the sick talk for now. I want to take a moment to say how thankful I am to have spent the holidays with my family. That's me on the left looking a little too brown for someone that hasn't been outside in ages.

I got to see everyone open my gifts (I love giving gifts and I try to pay attention all year and find gifts that will be appreciated. I also got to open my gifts. That was more than I expected. Now, I'm even enjoying my gifts. So, thanks for the sweater, hoody, socks, Kindle, shirts, books, Eufy Cam, and assorted other things! I even installed the Eufy cam. Life has felt normal at times, and that is huge.
As far as doctors go, I found a guy that could appreciate parts of what I told him, but there isn't really anything he could do for me, and he made a suggestion that would help fight Candidiasis, but I'm well past that being the main problem. I also had the Warren Clinic Endocrinology group call me to tell me that they thought my problem is too complex for them. Finally, I have a follow-up with the neurologist tomorrow. I don't expect much there, but I'll go.
As far as what else I've been up to. Well, I got the Trust established for my son. It will hold my OU retirement accounts and IRA until he is older. I also got my crypto tax calculations done for 2022, bought and installed Turbotax, and I plan on getting the crypto portion loaded and as much done as possible to ease the burden on my wife. Other than that, I watched The Quake, The Recruit, Espionage, Wednesday, and 1883 over the holidays. I highly recommend Wednesday.
